There’s something so special about senior portrait sessions in the Fall, especially when they’re set against Ohio’s breathtaking backdrop. When Meagan and I met for her session, I knew we were in for something amazing. I’ll be honest—I worried a bit that the dry season might dull the colors, but wow, Mother Nature truly outdid herself. Our season surprised me with gorgeous color and this location was just perfect for capturing Meagan’s personality. When we initially met for her consult, she said she just didn't want to be HOT! Yes girl....same!! (After the hottest summer ever!)
Effortless Style and Genuine Moments
Meagan was so much fun to work with. She's outgoing and engaging. We chatted so much about her future, school, college and everything in between. I know her and her mom were somewhat nervous about choosing outfits, but honestly, they did great and they were perfect for the Fall Season. Think cozy, effortless style that looked right at home amidst the vibrant leaves. It didn’t take long before for Meagan to get comfortable behind the camera and we created some beautiful images together! She started her day with Makeup by Tatum for pro hair and makeup that she LOVED! She trusted the process, which is SO IMPORTANT, and just brought such a relaxed vibe to the day. We shot her session at my favorite fall location, Highbanks Metro Park. which is my go to location for Fall Color. We always have the BEST sessions in this location and she loved it!
The Best Part of a Senior Portrait Session
Want to know my favorite part? Seeing Meagan’s face light up when she saw her images for the first time! It’s that moment when all the planning, hard work, laughter, and shared moments come together and she could relive it all through her photos. Her reaction said it all: pride, joy, and a new sense of confidence. This isn’t just about taking pictures; it’s about capturing a feeling, a moment, a milestone and I was so happy to be part of this journey with her!!
A Heartfelt Q&A with Meagan
Q: How did you feel when you first saw your sneak peek or when your session preview started?
Meagan: Honestly! I was really excited. The entire day was such a positive experience overall, and I could not have asked for a better day!
Q: If you could give any advice to your freshman year self, what would it be?
Meagan: Don't be anxious or afraid to try new things. Just embrace the little things and put yourself out there!
Q: What is one important thing you've learned from a parent?
Meagan: Both my parents taught me to never half-ass anything. If you’re going to do it, commit to it and do it well! That’s something I carry with me—I always do my best.
Q: What or Who has been your biggest inspiration?
Meagan: My mom! I lost my dad just before freshman year, and my mom has been juggling so much between my sister and me. Her character traits inspire me every single day and I strive to be just like her in every way.
Q: What’s next for you?
Meagan: I’m taking classes at Ohio State, majoring in neuroscience. But what I’m most excited about? The whole college experience—meeting new friends and everything that comes with it! .....AND I can't even wait to sit in the STUDENT SECTION!!! yessssss girl!!! So fun!!!
Congrats to you in your Senior Year!! Embrace as it goes by fast!!
