Ava’s Senior Portraits at Glacier Ridge: Classic, Simple, and Stunning
When Ava, a senior from Dublin Jerome High School, came to me for her senior portraits, we started with a consultation to make sure her session would be everything she wanted. We talked through all the details—her ideal location, her classic and simple style, and any nerves she had about being in front of the camera. My goal was to ensure Ava felt completely prepared and excited for her big day!
Perfecting the Plan: Choosing Glacier Ridge and Outfits for Ava’s Style
After considering all her options, we decided on Glacier Ridge for its blend of vibrant fall colors and beautiful natural rustic backdrops. With this stunning location in mind, we selected outfits that would reflect her timeless style. This planning time made all the difference, helping Ava relax and genuinely look forward to her session.
From Camera Shy to Camera Confident
By the time we met at Glacier Ridge, Ava’s initial nerves had softened into excitement. As we started exploring the park, she quickly found her groove! We laughed, captured some beautifully candid moments, and just let the session flow naturally. Our weather was a bit wild. It was gorgeous and warm for Fall, but the wind was a little nuts! Ava was a trooper and handled it like a boss! :)
Her Day? Unforgettable.
Ava went from feeling unsure about the process to absolutely loving her portraits. By the end of the day, she was thrilled with every shot, which felt so rewarding after all the planning we’d put in. Her photos truly reflect her authentic self—natural, confident, and effortlessly classic. What I loved most was hearing how much she loved her experience. From having Hair and Makeup done by Tatum and she gave her such a beautiful natural look. She embraced her hairs natural curly texture, which is downright dreamy! She loved how personalized the session and process was to everything she loved and wanted but also didn't pressure to have something she didn't want.
I'm so glad she got everything out of her session that I wanted for her, but also that she wanted for herself!
If you’re a senior or a parent considering senior portraits, take a page from Ava’s experience. A little planning goes a long way toward making the day feel relaxed, fun, and, most importantly, you!
