I won't lie, Zoe's write up made me melt a bit. This right here is exactly what I want EVERY client to feel for their shoot!
We booked a super last minute session and as we all know, the weather is anyone's guess. We ended up with a relatively pretty nice day...I mean considering it was February!
When Zoe and I first spoke she had alot of reservations about a session, the posing, the makeup and in all honestly, soooo many girls feel this way. My sessions are so personalized and it was important to find out all about her so I could make this day about HER and what she loved!
After our consult, I emailed her mom to ask a few more questions about the location she had envisioned. I really hadn't nailed anything down. Her response to me was, "she wants to make sure there are conifer trees...!" (Me: Casually googling "Conifer Trees.." lol
I knew the PERFECT spot for her!
I loved working with you Zoe and Erin despite the wind and chill, hey the sun was out, so there's a plus! Thanks for making the day super fun and incredibly memorable!! xoxo

My Senior Session Day was freezing! It was to be expected since it was February, but it was especially cold since I wasn't wearing winter clothing. Despite the cold, it was an amazing experience. I loved the location we went to. There were so many buildings and varying plants. I think the creek had to be my favorite though. I would definitely go back to that location to look under rocks for crawfish.
- Do you feel differently now that the session is done? I think my biggest fear for my session was the thought that I was going to dread it. I have never been a fan of people taking photos of me because every time I see the result I just cringe and begin being mean to myself. I've always struggled with body image issues and body dysmorphia, plus I've never really liked the way my smile looks on my face. I was worried that I was going to hate every moment and the results of my photos. However, the photo-taking process was a lot of fun!! I think it was mainly due to you having such a wonderful personality. You were talkative (good for me since I tend to be shy) and knew what you were doing. You could clearly see photography is your passion, which excited and pumped me for the experience. It was an experience that I would do again.

I surprisingly did feel really comfortable and confident during the session. I think it was mainly you that contributed to me feeling like that the most. I came in not knowing what to expect, but you had a plan and a vision that made more feel more confident. Plus, you were totally yourself and talkative which made it easier for me to open up. You were also open to anything I had to say or wanted to do which made the experience freeing in a way.

I was going for the classic senior photos look, but of course as a version of myself. I wanted to have mine located in a place that wasn't just some grasses that I found a lot of my classmates tend to do since there is a park nearby that has that. But I didn't want an urban landscape either. For whatever reason, pine trees and conifers came to mind and it suddenly hit me as a brilliant idea, especially for the wintertime. I definitely wanted a more nature vibe, but I also wanted some structure which is where the abandoned buildings came in clutch. I love abandoned buildings so it was really cool being able to work with one.

My mom and I were scrolling around to see if anyone else did senior photos still since it was so late in the year and we were ecstatic to find CRK willing to do so. Out of all the other photographers we looked at, we enjoyed your photos the most. I think it was the ballerina in the snow that really caught my heart that made me know that you were the photographer I was looking for.

I have submitted poetry to the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards for three years now and I have won at least something every year. In total, I have won two honorable mentions, two silver key awards, and one gold key award that went to Nationals! I was also interviewed by a local magazine about it which was insane! I definitely want to publish my work someday. This is an incredible achievement!! SUPER BIG congrats to you!!

Nothing is real. I'm not sure if this is advice I have necessarily received from someone in my life or something I caught on the internet, but it is weirdly comforting. It brings freedom to the world. When I am really stressed out or anxious it helps to remember this because I realize that life is so much more than it is about whatever I am thinking. It reminds me that I am more than my body, I am more than the position I am in, I am the universe!!! I can legitimately do anything. I plan on tattooing it on my finger. I guess a more light-hearted one is "you can change with the seasons." It isn't talking about the physical seasons of the weather, but the seasons of your life. You might go through a tough time for a few months and you are allowed to adapt to that season. There is nothing wrong with changing the situation you are in. <<< THIS ALL DAY!!! I hope you take this advice with you for your next chapter and beyond. Nothing lasts forever and so much of what happens is simply what were thinking and how we're reacting. You CAN do anything if you believe in yourself and if you don't yet, keep people close that do believe in you! NOW GO BE AWESOME! XO
