As a senior, your portrait session is an essential part of your senior year. You want to look your best and capture this momentous time in your life. However, it's easy to make mistakes when it comes to wardrobe choices. Here are five senior portrait session wardrobe mistakes to avoid:
1-Wearing ALL the same colors and having no variety. Here’s a tip when planning your outfits. Choose a light outfit, a dark outfit, a pop of color and a wild card.
2- Wearing ALL the trends. You’re going to have these images and beautiful keepsakes for an entire lifetime. I recommend to keep your styles more classic and add in ONE current trend. This will ensure longevity of your images but still keep you on point with the current styles.
3- Wearing outfits that don’t fit your authentic style. Your senior session is a big deal and marks a very important time in your life. Treat it as a special occasion by taking your current style up a notch. This is NOT the time to start trying new clothing styles, hair colors, hair styles. Your session should be an enhanced version of yourself.
4- Avoid wearing ill fitting outfits. Nothing adds WEIGHT faster to your images than clothes that don’t fit well. Ill fitting clothes photograph sloppy regardless of the pose.
5- Not utilizing accessories. This is the easiest way to get so much variety to your session without the full outfit changes. Just add a cute hat or seasonal jacket for a few images and you’ll have LOTS of variety and different images!
I hope this helped! Wardrobe choices are SO IMPORTANT for a great session. Did you know I help you with your selections so you know going in the outfits you have chosen are going to photograph great!!
