Senior Photographer in Columbus, OH - Claudine Kosier Photography
I get asked this question all the time, is Spring too late for my session? Not at all! If you don't have a yearbook deadline to meet, Spring is a gorgeous time of year and totally doable! So with that, are you ready to rock your senior portrait photography session this spring? I'm thrilled to be a part of capturing this special moment with style and confidence. As a senior portrait photographer who's all about that fashion-inspired, magazine-worthy look, I've got some tips to make sure you shine bright like the springtime sun during your shoot.
-
Pastel Party: Picture this: you, surrounded by blooming flowers and lush greenery, wearing soft pastel shades like pinks, blues, greens, and lavenders. These colors scream spring and will make you pop against whatever gorgeous backdrop we choose for your session. They will also give a light and airy carefree vibe!
-
Flowy Feels: Who doesn't love a flowy dress or skirt that catches the breeze just right? Opt for fabrics like chiffon, silk, or lightweight cotton to add a touch of elegance and movement to your portraits. Trust me, it'll add that extra oomph!
-
Mix it Up: Let's play with textures! It's all about creating a look that's uniquely you! Textures add depth, dimension, and interest to your photographs, that's why I LOVE them so much!
-
Accessorize, Accessorize, Accessorize!: Don't be afraid to amp up your look with statement accessories. Think layered necklaces, or a killer hat that screams "I'm fabulous!" Accessories are like the cherry on top – they tie your whole look together and add that wow factor.
-
Comfort is Queen: Yes, looking amazing is important, but feeling amazing is non-negotiable! Choose outfits that not only look great but also allow you to move freely and comfortably. When you feel good, you'll look even better in front of the camera.
-
Express Personal Style: I love to encourage seniors to infuse their unique personality into their wardrobe choices. Whether it's through bold accessories, eclectic styles, or vintage-inspired pieces, embracing individual style enhances the authenticity of the portraits and ensures they reflect each senior's distinct character. Try to also think long-term and keep your outfits more classic and timeless. We shoot with 4 total outfits, so it's always fun to include a "current trend" for one outfit. A big example of a "current trend" is some fun flare jeans or cool crop tops! Check out some samples of clothing I love for Seniors here!
-
Layer Like a Pro: Columbus weather can be a bit unpredictable, so layering is key. Although typically mild and comfortable, you never know what's going to happen! So I advise to start with a lightweight base and add on versatile pieces like cardigans or jackets that you can easily shed or throw on as needed. Check the weather the week of your shoot to better decide on heavy versus light layers.
- A Sense of Renewal: Time to start your next chapter! Springtime offers a sense of renewal and energy, symbolizing new beginnings and transitions—perfect for reflecting on your long journey to this moment and preparing to embark on your future! You've worked hard and it's your time to be in the spotlight and SHINE!
Your senior portrait session is all about celebrating this exciting chapter in your life and showing off your personality in every shot. With these tips, you'll be slaying the springtime vibes like a pro. Let's make some magic together!
